Chief Information Officer
Ash Shehata is the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for BSM Consulting based in Phoenix. As CIO, Mr. Shehata is responsible for developing a comprehensive IT plan that addresses short-term tactical initiatives while balancing medium- and long-term business needs. He also helps the organization develop innovative, cost-effective, and creative business processes and systems to deliver a better client experience.
Prior to joining BSM, Mr. Shehata was the CIO for Sovereign Healthcare, a health care management company working with some of the most prominent surgeons and health care systems in the world. Before working for Sovereign Healthcare, he spent more than 13 years with Dignity Health (formerly Catholic Healthcare West), where he also served as the CIO among other IT leadership roles.
In 2002, Mr. Shehata was selected by Computerworld for its Premier 100 IT Leaders Awards, which honors those who have had a positive impact on their organization through exceptional technological leadership, innovative approaches to business challenges, and effective execution of comprehensive IT strategies.
He is a contributing member of HIMSS, a global caused-based nonprofit focused on better health through information and technology, and American College Healthcare Executives, an international professional society of health care executives that aims to advance health care management excellence.
Mr. Shehata graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in biology and minoring in business administration. He furthered his studies at Mt. Sierra College in technology programs and systems.
