Maureen Waddle joined BSM Consulting in 2008 with more than 20 years of experience in the eye care industry, and is located in Sacramento, CA. Though she works with a variety of specialty practices, most of her work is with ophthalmic practices and ambulatory surgery centers. Her expertise includes leadership recruitment and development, strategic planning and implementation, new service line analysis and development, customer service, staff training, referral network development, management in the business of elective surgery, internal and external marketing plans, financial assessment and benchmarking, and operational efficiency.
Prior to joining BSM, Ms. Waddle served as a Vice President for TLCVision, where she provided strategic leadership and operational oversight for the western region’s refractive laser centers and mobile laser clients. She has filled a variety of roles during her years with ophthalmic and hearing centers, including Director of Operations, Practice Administrator, Marketing Director, Manager of a specialty IPA, Healthcare Consultant, and National Director of Managed Care for a practice management company.
She authors articles for many medical journals and websites, and currently, she serves as a columnist for Administrative Eyecare and Ophthalmology Management magazines. An active member in the American Academy of Ophthalmology Executives (AAOE) and the American Society of Ophthalmic Administrators (ASOA), Ms. Waddle regularly hosts webinars and gives presentations on a variety of practice management topics. She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and Journalism, and her Master of Business Administration coursework at California State University, Sacramento.
