Noted Practice Administrator Jolynn Cook Joins BSM

BSM Consulting Hires Jolynn Cook as its Newest Senior Consultant
You may have seen or spoken to BSM Consulting's newest senior consultant Jolynn Cook at the recent ASCRS-ASOA Symposium and Congress. We couldn't be more proud to have her on our team.
Jolynn brings more than 20 years of health care experience to BSM Consulting. Prior to joining BSM, she was the administrator of Laurel Eye Clinic, Laurel Laser & Surgery Center, and Laurel Cosmetic & Plastic Surgery. Her responsibilities included managing operations at the practice’s 10 offices, two ambulatory centers, and cosmetic and plastic surgery practice, all located in Pennsylvania.
“Jolynn brings a distinctive blend of practical experience and compliance knowledge, which will help BSM remain ahead of the curve and provide thoughtful practice management solutions to the challenges that our customers face in today’s rapidly evolving health care marketplace,” said Bruce Maller, BSM Consulting president and CEO. “We are excited to add Jolynn to our growing team of skilled senior consultants.”
In her role at BSM, Jolynn consults with a variety of individual, group, and corporate clients to identify specific needs and issues while providing enduring strategic solutions that achieve the objectives of all stakeholders. She is especially knowledgeable in the areas of reimbursement and compliance. Jolynn is based in Worthville, Pa.

Throughout her 20-year ophthalmic career, Jolynn has been a member of many professional organizations, including the American Society of Ophthalmic Administrators (ASOA), American Academy of Ophthalmic Executives (AAOE), Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), and the Ambulatory Care Accreditation Program and Technical Advisory Committee (PTAC). She is a regular speaker and presenter at the annual Hawaiian Eye meeting, where she serves as a committee member for Nursing and Allied Health Providers.
In addition, Jolynn serves on the editorial board of Ophthalmic Professional magazine, authoring its regular compliance column. She has also written for Administrative Eyecare and BSM Connection® for Ophthalmology. Jolynn has also served on the BSM Consulting Advisory Board, providing guidance on distance learning and course development for BSM Connection®, and she was president of the NBCOE board and a member of the ASOA board.

Jolynn is a registered nurse (RN), a Certified Ophthalmic Executive (COE), and a Certified Administrator Surgery Center (CASC). Her education includes a nursing degree from Philipsburg State General Hospital in Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts degree in healthcare administration from Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa.
