Today is an exciting day at BSM Consulting as we officially announce the purchase of Progressive Surgical Solutions, a Southern California-based consulting company that specializes in strategic assessment and planning, compliance, development, and management of ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs).

“For years, our clients have asked us to expand our ability to serve the outpatient surgery center community,” said Bruce Maller, BSM Consulting president and CEO, following the announcement. “Uniting with Progressive Surgical Solutions enables us to better meet the diverse and changing needs of our growing customer base, all under the BSM Consulting umbrella. The Progressive team are incredible, proven professionals whose commitment and core values are a perfect fit with BSM."

Headed by Regina Boore, Progressive’s mission is to be a flexible, direct, and responsive resource for administrators, nurse managers, and physician-owners who are equally concerned about center performance as patient outcomes. Progressive’s employees have more than 125 years of combined ASC experience.

BSM will retain all of Progressive’s team members, as well as its brand. The combined company will employ approximately 60 people.

“Bruce and I are thrilled at the prospect of what our new team can bring to the table to meet the constantly evolving needs of our clients,” Boore said. “Strategic assessment and planning, compliance, development, and management of ASCs is a time-consuming challenge for busy providers and administrative leaders. Our goal is to help them effectively manage the complex ASC arena, so they can focus their complete attention on providing the best care possible to patients.”

Progressive consults with ASCs internationally and nationwide. The well-respected company delivers meaningful and impactful expertise in all surgical specialties and consistently earns high praise from its clients.

Here is what several clients have to say about the Progressive team.

“Building an ASC is such a complicated endeavor that the single most important person is the consultant. I have been extremely impressed by Progressive’s knowledge, resourcefulness, and responsiveness. They know every aspect of the industry and have the experience and the contacts that are indispensable. I couldn’t be happier with their services.”
David F. Chang, MD, Owner, Peninsula Eye Surgery Center, Mountain View, Calif.

“This is our second successful reaccreditation, with PSS as our consultants. Each time they prepared us well and did so via two mock surveys and up-to-date knowledge about the current standards and what to expect. We cannot thank them enough for their professionalism and commitment to compliance and quality patient care.”
Alison Galloway, RN, Administrator/Director of Nursing, La Peer Surgery Center, Beverly Hills, Calif.

“Progressive Surgical Solutions was helpful every step along the way. They helped to identify any possible errors and offered practical solutions. I’m so glad I had them to rely on to answer all my questions and offer advice!”
— Jill Fielding, RN, Surgery Center Director, Evergreen Eye Surgery Center, Federal Way, Wash.

Progressive was founded in 2002 when surgeons began turning to Boore for compliance assistance as surgery centers came under a new wave of regulations. At the time, Boore was an ASC administrator with a reputation for successfully navigating the regulatory maze.

Progressive marks the second company purchased by BSM in the past eight months. In May 2017, BSM bought Rose & Associates, a Texas-based consulting firm that assists eye care providers with billing, coding, and compliance issues.
